But anyway. Here's the Friday Five. Um, Peach, take note: There's no at in the title. It's just The Friday Five. No Friday at Five, or Five on Friday. Okay?
Oh, and I'm well aware of the fact that I'm a day late, but I don't care. I went out and had fun instead, so nyah.
1. What is your favorite type of literature to read (magazine, newspaper, novels, nonfiction, poetry, etc.)?
I don't got one. I read constantly. I have the shampoo bottle memorized, because every morning in the shower I re-read it. I'm constantly reading something, I usually like to carry a book with me everywhere I go [though lately I haven't been]. I love magazines: Time, National Geographic, Reader's Digest, Popular Mechanics, Lucky, PC World, anything dealing with computers, science, nature, fitness, fashion, gaming, anime, or manga. I love all newspapers as well, and I actually read everything (not just the funnies). I love literature, I read zines regularly, I love online diaries/blogs, and I love all genres. I guess I'm just a reading machine, or some other dorky title.
2. What is your favorite novel?
I don't think I have one. Does The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide count? It's all five books in Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's trilogy. Um, other than that, lemme think... Argh. Let's just put it this way: There aren't many novels I don't enjoy.
3. Do you have a favorite poem? (Share it!)
GAH! How on EARTH am I supposed to choose? Again, all genres and styles appeal to me... So I guess I'll just put in a quick excerpt from Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass:
Oh You Whom I Often and Silently Come
O you whom I often and silently come where you are that I may be with you,
As I walk by your side or sit near, or remain in the same room with you,
Little you know the subtle electric fire that for your sake is playing within me.
I spent the day with Joel, so if you were wondering why that racy little tidbit was running through my head, now you know...
4. What is one thing you've always wanted to read, or wish you had more time to read?
I have yet to read The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. I've read The Hobbit, but I need to get ahold of a copy of LOTR... Hm. There's plenty more, actually. Every new book by Terry Brooks, everything by Douglas Adams that I haven't yet read, I'm still working on A Thousand Pieces of Gold by Adeline Yen Mah (and afterward I'd like to read her other works)... Yeah. Like I said, I like to read. Oh, and someday I'm going to read The Art of War. Yeah.
5. What are you currently reading?
Ugh. I think I've already answered this one, really. Just look above, and add a few random others that I constantly read and re-read, like Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, The Bible (New King James Version), and The Elfstones of Shannara.
You know, this entry was almost painful. I'm so frikkin indecisive... blah.
