But it's not my fault. Blame Captain Jack Sparrow, Disney, Johnny Depp in all his yucky-toothed glory, Popeye, and that little tingle I get every time I hear the word swashbucklin.
Okay, so I might be just a little bit obsessed. But I'm not a teeny bopper in love with Johnny Depp, really! I mean, if I was, it certainly wouldn't be because of Pirates of the Caribbean. No, it'd be because of Edward Scissorhands and Blow and Benny and Joon and Chocolat and the upcoming The Rum Diary in which he's starring with both Josh Hartnett and Benicio Del Toro...
Anyway, like I was saying. It's not my liking for Johnny Depp's abilities as an actor, although that's why I chose him instead of Orlando Bloom, who I really couldn't care less about (except that I like his clothes).
I've always liked pirates. Well, the idea of them, anyway, and their role in history. I'm sure if one the smarmy buggers was actually in front of me I'd... Well, actually, I'd be all stupid and try 'parley' or something, so I wouldn't get killed, and then the pirate would likely fall on his butt from laughing so hard, and then I'd run away really quickly (thanks to my new Sketchers sneakers). Not that I would automatically be killed anyway, especially seeing as how I'm not of Spanish descent, in case any pirates exist nowadays and are still holding a grudge... See, I actually know a bit about pirates, or I did, anyway. Because I used to be obsessed with them years ago -- they were one of the first little bits of history that truly interested me.
... Anyway.
ARRR! A couple of (lots of) things. Today is International Talk Like a Pirate Day! I know, great, eh? Oops, I mean, uh, 'Tis be a great, grand holiday, yarr!
Aaaaaaand, this layout should only be up until the end of the month. Then I'll be switching over to something a little less orange (which really is a shame, since orange is my current favorite color). But yeah, I've got a dark, creepy, rainbow one ready to upload as soon as it's October. If you're not thinking that dark, creepy, and rainbow can possibly fit together to make a layout that actually fits that description, well, you're wrong. Wait until you see it, it's great, grand! Creepy and colorful, but not... I figure it'll fit well with the Halloween theme for October, even though I don't celebrate Halloween. Well, I dress up, but that's because I like costumes. And I eat candy, because, heck, who doesn't? (If you don't eat candy, don't answer that. I don't want to know about your weird non-candy eating habits.) But I don't do any of the non-commercial Halloween types of things. Although I've nothing against those who do, mind you. I just don't, myself. ARRR.
But anyway. I shall be changing the layout soon, so if you be liking this one, ye best be taking a screencap or whatnot. Yarr. And um... I really don't know what to say. I've still got to post that story (I'm editing, really, booga boo). And I've got this music rant all ready to post, but I'm editing that as well. And I need to get a job (still!), and I've figured out what I'm going to give everyone I know for Christmas. Yup.
Oh, and it says so in the status bar below, but this layout is especially dedicated to me dear ol' Cap'n Tasuki, who be enjoyin the recent pirate obsession muchly as well.
